A non-profit organisation, Supportifly Humanitarian Foundation, has given out N2,000,000 for business grants through Vendors Spot to SMEs.
Announcing the development was Vendor’s Spot founder, Olayinka Habeeb, who noted that Supportifly’s Chairman, Bolarinwa Kashif Ololade, released the N2m cash grant to Vendors Spot grant winner, Folarera Taylor.
Habeeb said, “When secured the grant for the vendor, I was so excited and filled with joy and passion. That is the highest grant we’ve ever secured for a vendor. I was so excited. We have helped over 100 businesses with capacity building and 25 business owners with grants and this is the biggest from that and we are going only upward from here.”
Speaking about Vendor Spot, he stated that the brand was birthed out of passion and experience he had to have transactions with online vendors. “Scam is everywhere and I was a victim who was scammed by an online vendor. Then I look into the space and see how I can use my passion to protect other online shoppers and also help to build self-trust for struggling business owners that people do not trust due to different scams that they might have been exposed to. We want to create a space where SMEs can do business with ease and network with customers anywhere around the world.”
Confirming the receipt of the cash grant, the beneficiary of the N2m, Folarera Taylor, noted that she felt excited and overwhelmed after winning the grant because it was a great opportunity for her to achieve her business goals.
She said, “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and the support it will provide for my brand. The grant has allowed my brand, Havils Accessories & Wears, to expand our product line and increased our revenue. With the grant, we were able to purchase new equipment and accessories while expanding to new markets nationwide. Overall, the grant was instrumental to the growth and thriving of our brand.”
Folarera stated that she was grateful to Vendors Spot for believing in her business idea and choosing her as the winner of the grant. She also thanked Supportifly and its chairman for the privilege.
Confirming the development, Chairman, Supportifly Humanitarian Foundation, Bolarinwa Kashif Ololade, stated that the grant was another testament of the NGO’s promise to alleviate poverty and assist SMEs to grow through beneficial programmes.
He said, “When Vendors Spot brought their idea and we saw that it was a good opportunity to give back to SMEs and especially, youths who are striving, we decided to come in with what we could do. We saw it as another opportunity to give back to the society.”
Kashif noted that his NGO is committed to the SDGs goals and the move for a better Nigeria.
