Originally from Niger State, dawanke has now become a popular food in some northern Nigeria towns and villages. Dawanke is rich in protein, vitamin C, as well as other nutritional elements such as alpha and beta carotenes, potassium, glutamic acid, mucilage, etc.

Leave the pastes to boil for 15 minutes until they become stiff. To serve, drain out the water and place the dawanke in a bowl.
