Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has conveyed his condolences to the immediate past President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan on the loss of his mother, Hajiya Halima (Baba) Ibrahim.
Hajiya Halima passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at her residence in Gashua town, Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State at the age of 86 years.
Inuwa Yahaya who expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the octogenarian, acknowledged her remarkable life and the profound impact she had on her family and the community.
He regretted that Hajiya Halima died at a time when her elderly and motherly counsel and wisdom were needed by her children and grandchildren as well as the present crop of leaders.
He, however, consoled that, “We must take solace in the fact that she left behind a lasting legacy through her children, especially our dear friend and brother, Sen. Ahmed Lawan.”
The Gombe State Governor urged the former Senate President and other members of his family to keep alive the legacies of love, discipline and good character their late mother left behind.
He extended the condolences of the government and people of Gombe State to the Yobe State government and Gashua community over the sad event, and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat Firdausi.
