In the past one week life has become as unbearable as ever. Many Nigerians who can’t afford to pay high transportation fares as result of the sudden fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have been forced to trek to their various destinations.
Truth be told, the cost of food and other commodities have increased following the removal of fuel subsidy.
Petrol is now sold for over N500 per litre. Nigerians are groaning, particularly the poor masses who are struggling to survive. The rich are not complaining about the increase of price of petrol in Nigeria.
Nigeria has the potential and human capacity to develop this nation. The most important thing for President Tinubu to do for those who voted for him is to put smiles on their faces by doing the needful at this moment.
The president should provide immediate relief to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal. The president said he would not go back on the recent removal of fuel subsidy. However, President Tinubu should not forget that there are many poor citizens in this country.
We have workers in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria and whose salaries are just N30,000 per month, while we have other citizens who don’t have jobs but depend on those who are working. For one to be a good leader, such leader must be a listener.
The president must not allow the poor masses of Nigeria to suffer over this fuel subsidy removal.
We don’t want pains. Nigerians didn’t vote for hardship.
