In a groundbreaking initiative, Bukola Owolabi and her Emagine Foundation have reached 1,000 schoolgirls, providing them with sanitary towels to support their menstrual hygiene in Lagos.
Owolabi stated during the distribution event, saying, “The Emagine Foundation is driven by a mission to uplift young women through health and educational support.
“This initiative, which targets secondary schoolgirls, aims to remove a major barrier that often prevents girls from attending school during their periods.
“Menstrual hygiene is a fundamental issue for girls’ education. We’re ensuring that young girls do not miss out on learning because they lack the necessary products to manage their periods.
“By addressing menstrual hygiene, the foundation hopes to reduce absenteeism in schools and empower girls to pursue their education without fear or shame.”
Owolabi’s leadership in this cause highlights the foundation’s ongoing commitment to creating a more equitable and supportive environment for young women.
