Flood: NEMA distributes relief material to displaced Bayelsa residents

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has flagged off the distribution of relief items as part of phase one of the ‘Special National Economic Livelihood Emergency Intervention ‘in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The NEMA Director General, Mustapha Ahmed Habib represented by Justin Uwazuruonye presented the relief items to the beneficiaries.

The programme was approved by the Federal Government to assist 7,811 households affected by the 2022 flood, as well as vulnerable individuals in Bayelsa state.

The distribution is being done in partnership with the Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA).

The relief package includes food, non-food items, tools for livelihood support, agriculture seedlings, rice, beans, and vegetable oil.

Others are blankets, mattresses, more, seedlings, pesticides, fertilizer, sewing machines, grinding machines, and sprayers.
