First Bank launches digital self-service center in Abuja

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Bank, Adesola Adeduntan, on Tuesday launched the Digital Experience Center for customers self-service in Abuja.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Center at First Bank, Wuse Zone 2 branch, Adeduntan said “for everything that we do, our customers are actually at the heart of our business strategy.

“Today’s event which is the commissioning of the ‘Digital Experience Center’, the third in the series within the bank is another attestation that innovation and simplicity is at the heart of our business”.

The MD commended the team that made the launch of the Center a success. “For me, it is an opportunity to celebrate the team that has been working on this and several other things that we have been doing in the bank over the last couple of years. So kudos to the team.

“The first Center as you know, is in Victoria Island, Lagos. The second one was launched at the University of Ibadan in Oyo state”.

He said innovation is “the primary reason why our institution have remained a dominant feature in the economic landscape, not just of Nigeria, but Sub Saharan Africa”.

Adeduntan explained that the launching of the Digital Center “is just one of the manifestations of that continuous improvement and refinement.

“So again, if you observe, these centers are being located at very high traffic locations, and they are open 24/7 which means the customer can come, do their banking transactions, irrespective of the nature of the banking transactions whether depositing cash, withdrawing cash, transfer of money or print a new card without any human help”.

The Center also have a Chatbot/virtual assistant to take customers complaints and also give out information to customers.

“Our intention in the first wave is to plant this digital experience center in critical commercial centers across the country, then subsequently depending on how we see the need, we can have additional ones in certain cities, each of the city will have one Enforcer” the CEO stated.
