A former Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, has urged the Muslim faithful in Oyo North Senatorial District and Oyo State in general to use Ramadan as a time of reflection.
Ogunesan stated this in her Ramadan message, describing the holy month of Ramadan as one that “offers us a unique opportunity to come together in faith and purpose.”
She said, “Ramadan is a time of reflection and prayer, a sacred period that encourages believers to deepen their spirituality and strengthen their connection with Allah, as well as foster a sense of unity and compassion among individuals and families.

“It serves as a reminder of the importance of self-discipline, generosity, and empathy, urging us to extend our hearts and hands to those in need.
“As we observe fasting and dedicated prayer, let us also commit to acts of kindness and service, ensuring that the spirit of Ramadan is felt far beyond our homes and communities.
“In a world that often faces division and challenges, we are reminded during this blessed month to cherish our shared humanity, to listen, to understand, and to support one another. May we embody the values of patience, gratitude, and compassion, making a concerted effort to reach out to our neighbors and to work collectively towards the common good.
“As we embark on this spiritual journey, may Allah shower His blessings upon you and your families, grant you peace and health, and accept your prayers and good deeds during this holy month.
“I encourage our Muslim brothers and sisters to take the time to reflect, rejoice in our blessings, and to strengthen the bonds that unite us.”
