Ex-Gov, Jang expresses readiness of Plateau to support Tinubu-led administration

Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang, has expressed the readiness of the people of the state to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking at the flag-off of the campaign for the Plateau North Senatorial District re-run election, Senator Jang said the election is over, and a president is in place. He added that as patriotic Nigerians, there is a need to support his administration.

“We are supporting Mr. President, the President of Nigeria. The election is over; he is now our president. Our loyalty is with him. The loyalty will be strong if he holds us strong. So, Mr. President, rub our backs, and we will rub yours. Politics is over; it is time for governance.

“We shall cooperate with Mr. President, but we are appealing to him to dualize the road from Akwanga to Jos and to Bauchi. We are in the center of Nigeria; we are true Nigerians, and therefore we should be treated as Nigerians.”

He implored the people of the state to give the necessary support to the Governor Caleb Muftwang-led administration in the state, adding that the governor has started well and therefore needs to be encouraged.

“Plateau, we are known for loyalty. We must accord the Muftwang-led administration the necessary support to succeed. If he does not perform more than me, he is not worthy to be called my son. I want you to give him all the necessary support so that he can perform better than me,” he pleaded.

The former governor also advised the governor, along with the leadership of the PDP in the state, to set up a committee to unravel disloyal members whose loyalty to the party is in doubt.

Jang said this is important because, as the popular adage goes, “One’s Beating Is Twice Shy,” stressing that some people claim to be members of the party but are doing harm to the party by leaking the party’s secrets to the opposition parties.

He said this is imperative now that the storm against the party was allegedly orchestrated by those who want to see the party die in the state so that they can continue with their unprogressive rule that will destroy Plateau State.
