WHY the interest in Oluyole House of Representatives seat?
Look around you; is this how Oluyole supposed to be? When we were growing, if they wanted to describe Ibadan they would say ‘Ibadan, ile Oluyole’. That means Oluyole is very significant to Ibadan. But is that in tandem with the level of development and opportunities for the people of Oluyole? Oluyole must get its share from the government through quality representation and that was why I was chosen by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives. I stand for quality representation. With my doggedness, exposure, experience, pedigree and the desire to serve my people, Oluyole would witness unprecedented development if I am elected to represent the constituency.
I would continue to fight for the cause of children, youths, women and the underprivileged in my constituency and the state in particular and the country in general. I would also ensure robust relationship with the state governor and other members of the Senate and House of Representatives from Oyo State, so as to bring development to Oluyole.
What should the electorate look for in political aspirants?
Electorate should look at the pedigree of those asking for their votes before entrusting destines into their hands. They should look at their antecedents and what they stand for. What are their past records and means of livelihood. All APC candidates in Oyo State are people of high pedigree and sustainable livelihood who will not abuse power if entrusted into their hands. People know my parents. They also know my siblings and what I stand for. I have a name which I would always protect. As a special adviser on Projects and Bureau of Investment to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, people can tell you about our performances. I am going to the House of Representatives with the zeal with which I performed my duties.
What are the chances of APC in the election?
Candidates of APC are worthy to be entrusted with power. The President Muhammadu Buhari/Professor Yemi Osinbajo ticket would continue to ensure prudent management of the country’s resources. They are not corrupt. The gubernatorial candidate of APC in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, rose to a very top position at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). He is poised to lift the development initiated by the Governor Ajimobi-led administration to the next level. So, the people have seen the difference and they are ready to vote for APC which has brought peace, security, prudent use of resources and development to the state in particular and country in general.
What were you doing before venturing into politics?
I have served at management levels of blue- chip institutions, including Ventures & Trust Limited and the Dangote Group.
I facilitated rice mill investment of Dangote Group and Dangote Rice Farming Development Projects across Oluyole; rehabilitated Baare Health Centre in Oluyole Local Government Area; gave scholarships to underprivileged students up to university level; constructed roads across Oluyole I am networking support to fast-track the approval of the construction of the World Bank-assisted roads in Oluyole, among others.
