Disclosing this in a statement recently, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) stated that it contracted Afrik Delta Marine Limited (ADML) for the services of Egina FPSO Tow and turning. The operation included the use of five of ADML’s Nigerian flagged tug boats with Nigerian crews.
“The operation was a culmination of significant planning and engineering that lasted over twelve months and entailed the special simulation training of ADML’s Nigerian crew overseas to enhance their expertise.
Some of the vessels were already on other operations with Exxon Mobil and Chevron. The Logistics Management from Exxon Mobil and Chevron contributed to the success of the operation by temporarily releasing the vessels to perform the Egina FPSO towage.
This is another major milestone in the Nigerian maritime industry and a clear demonstration of progress in Nigerian Content Development,” SHI stated.
