The Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), had on Tuesday raided the state headquarters office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Sokoto.
The Zonal head Commandant of the EFCC, Mr Lawal Abdullahi, who spoke with our correspondent on telephone confirmed the incident and disclosed that some of the senior officials of the Electoral Commission are currently with the EFCC team.
Our correspondent who was at the headquarters of INEC in the state confirmed the development from some members of staff of the commission.
Speaking with Nigerian Tribune, a staff of INEC who spoke under condition of anonymity disclosed that the EFCC team raided the office early on Tuesday morning.

He disclosed that the team whisked away some senior officials INEC and carted away from some vital documents from the office.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Tribune gathered that the raiding of the office and subsequent arrest of some staff may not be unconnected with irregularities in the payment of some ad-hoc staff during the last general elections in the state.
One of the ad-hoc staff who also spoke with the Nigerian Tribune confirmed that some of his friends whom they work together during the election were short paid.
He, however, disclosed that some people were receiving alert bank alerts from yesterday evening confirming the balance of their payment.
Meanwhile, the Zonal Head of the EFCC in the state promised to disclose the reason behind the raiding and the arrest to the press in due course.
