Edo guber: PDP’s Ighodalo takes ward-to-ward campaign to Ovia North-East

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the September 21, 2024, governorship election in Edo state, Asue Ighodalo, on Friday, took his ward-to-ward campaign to the Oduna/Oghede ward of Ovia North-east Local Government Area (LGA), of the state, where he was received by a crowd of enthusiastic supporters., chanting his campaign pay off, “Man we sabi”.

The Oduna/Oghede ward campaign is the second day two of the ward-to-ward campaign which kicked off on Thursday.

In his opening remarks, the PDP Chairman for Ovia North-East, Mr. Monday Enihoro, thanked the people for coming out in large numbers to receive the PDP governorship candidate and the campaign team. He urged them to continue to support the party.

On his part, Chairman of Ovia North-East Local Government Council, Mr. Collins Osamede Ogbeiwe, also thanked the people for their support for PDP and the support given to him during the local government council election.

He highlighted projects by the state government in the LGA to include the Ekenwan Road, the on-going project, Gelegele project, rural electrification projects and others.

He said Oduna and Oghede ward have never disappointed PDP and they will not disappoint this time. This was just as he charged the people to get their PVCs ready and vote for the ‘Umbrella’.

Addressing the people, the Edo State PDP chairman Dr. Tony Aizegbemi, and the Director General of the PDP governorship Campaign Council, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, both charge the people to vote PDP, noting that the PDP “is the only party that fulfills promises and gives good governance.”

Addressing the jubilant crowd, the PDP governorship candidate, Ighodalo, said when voted into power, his administration would empower the women, the youth in their different businesses as well as give support to the elderly.

He further said that when elected, his administration would partner the people and leadership of markets to improve infrastructure in the market as well as revamp agriculture in the local government.

Ighodalo also promised that his administration would complete the ongoing Gelegele Seaport and the Ekenwan Road project to maximise the economic activities in the local government and Edo State in general.

The PDP flag bearer appreciated the people of Oduna and Oghede for their show of love, support and confidence and assured that when elected, the ward and local government would enjoy due consideration in everything the government would do.
