The Disciples of Jagaban (DoJ), a prominent support group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has made an impassioned plea to all Nigerians to rally behind the president and drop the lenses of regional and religious identities.
This was the resolution of the meeting held by the group at its meeting held in Kaduna State at the weekend.
The meeting, which was attended by leaders from all six geopolitical zones and various state coordinators, according to DoJ, in a statement signed by the National Coordinator, Abdulhakeem Alawuje, urged Nigerians to support the president and drop the lenses of regional and religious identities so that we can have a unified nation.
It emphasised that the challenges facing Nigeria today are national issues, not confined to religious, ethnic, or political lines.
“We must stop politicising the current situation This is a matter that concerns all Nigerians, regardless of where we come from or what we believe in.”
According to Alawuje, President Tinubu is well aware of the difficulties the country is enduring and the hardships the masses are experiencing.
However, he called on Nigerians to trust in Tinubu’s vision and patience, believing that the President’s policies, once fully implemented, will yield positive results for the nation.
“The day Nigerians realise the need for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead Nigeria is the day we will celebrate the God who gave him to us as President,” Alawuje declared.
The National Coordinator praised Tinubu’s efforts to dismantle outdated and ineffective structures across the country, paving the way for new and more fitting ones.
He stressed further, “Today’s pains are going to be tomorrow’s joy,” urging citizens to remain optimistic as the results of his new structures will soon be visible to all of us.”
DoJ also highlighted Tinubu’s determination to make every Nigerian productive, responsible, and useful to their families, communities, and the nation as a whole.
While acknowledging that the journey will not be easy, they expressed confidence in Tinubu’s focus and resolve to achieve his goals for the benefit of both current and future generations.
Despite the formidable challenges, Alawuje noted that Tinubu has started his tenure on a strong note. He called on Nigerians to set aside any sentiments and support the president’s efforts to rid the country of political exploitation.
He remarked, “All previous presidents, heads of state, and well-meaning Nigerians have supported and endorsed his strategies and policies to rescue the country from the hands of political rapists.”
Doj reiterated the commitment of the Disciples of Jagaban to advocating for good governance. He called on all misguided youths and misinformed masses to see Tinubu as a friend of the nation and to not allow themselves to be swayed by the nation’s adversaries, who fear that a successful Tinubu presidency would render them irrelevant in future elections.
“Nigeria’s current pains are temporary, and with collective support and patience, the nation is on the path to a brighter future under President Tinubu’s leadership,” the statement declared.
