The State Commandant of NSCDC, Mahmoud Fari disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Lafia the capital of the state.
According to him, one Hashimu Mohammad,27, from Tudun Amba, was arraigned under section 287 and 319 of the state penal code for stealing a motorcycle.
He added that another, Aliyu Adamu,26, Abubakar Sadiq, 25, and Mohammed Yakubu, 27, were also arrested at Angwan Tiv and arraigned before the Chief Magistrate court for stealing motorcycle contrary to section 97 and 297 of the state penal code.
The Commandant also said Bulus Maikasuwa, Liketa Monday, and Usman Adamu were also arraigned before the same court for stealing another motorcycle at Angwan Tsakuwa Gidaji on December 17, 2017, in Lafia.
He disclosed that the suspects were convicted with 3 months jail term each or a fine of N10,000 as spelled out in the state penal code.
The Commandant, however, called on the state government to amend the state penal codes in order to conform with the present day realities.
