Kano Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has charged corps members posted to the state to be patriotic and selfless in all their activities in a bid to move Nigeria to a greater height.
This is just as he stated that his administration was determined to make a huge investment in the youth corps members, stressing that all the needed support would be provided to ensure a conducive working environment for the corps members.
Yusuf made this known on Tuesday during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 Corps Members held at the permanent orientation camp Kusalla, Karaye, Kano.
However, while speaking on behalf of Governor Yusuf, the commissioner for higher education Dr Yusuf Kofar Mata said the orientation training will prepare the corps members to face the challenges ahead.
The governor then urged them to avail themselves of the opportunity by participating in all the camp activities geared towards achieving the set objective.
Earlier, the NYSC Coordinator in Kano Hajiya Halima Abdulkareem Abubakar said the orientation training is a fundamental aspect of the NYSC program meant to prepare the corps members for the service year.
She disclosed that the corps members will during the training have the opportunity of learning the culture and language of their host communities.
Hajiya Halima Abdulkareem commended the efforts of Kano government for the support it rendered to the scheme.
