As panic gripped Nigerians over the arrest of Coronavirus sufferer in Lagos State, some residents in the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), on Saturday, declared that they were not panicking over the virus, saying using face masks at this particular period was as a result of dust.
Some of them, who spoke with Sunday Tribune, said since Lagos State has picked affected Italian, they have any fear about it.
According to Muhammed Sabiu, “the government has already dropped him somewhere, so why will I be afraid? I am only using this face mask because of dust. I never had a sleepless night because of coronavirus.”
In his own opinion, Paul Aigbogun believed that it would not get to somewhere like the nation’s capital (Abuja) unless people in power are not responsible and reliable.

Wale Adejuwon also corroborated the above views, saying:” I am not using face mask because of coronavirus. The weather is too harsh and my nose is blocked. So, that is why I am using it.”
Speaking on the development, the Director, FCT Primary Health Care, Josephine Okechukwu, said the passengers coming in from the foreign country through Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, were being thoroughly screened.
He noted that isolation wards have been created at the National Hospital, Abuja and University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada as quarantine centers for suspected victims of COVID-19 known as Coronavirus.
According to him, the public should not panic over the reported case of the disease in Lagos State, as only preventive measures are washing hands with alcoholic sanitizers and soaps with water thoroughly.
He, therefore, allayed the fear of the residents over it, assuring that adequate preparation to curtail the current disease has already been put in place.
It will be recalled that the Federal Ministry of Health statement issued on Friday, February 28, 2020, confirmed the first case of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria.
