TEN Christian Clergymen are to perform the 2018 Easter Holy Pilgrimage to Israel under the sponsorship of Bauchi State Government as they join other Christian faithful to pray for peace and unity of the country.
This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Executive Secretary of Bauchi State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB), Mr Daniel Shawulu during the screening of the intending pilgrims in from Bauchi state.
Daniel Shawulu explained that “Today we commenced the screening of the ten clergymen being sponsored by the state government to the Holy Land to perform the Christian pilgrimage and pray for the nation while there”.
The Executive Secretary added that “The ten Pastors are going for the 2018 Easter pilgrimage to Israel on July 14, that is four days from today” explaining that the Easter pilgrimage, that was earlier on slated for April 2018 was delayed due to some operational reasons”.
Daniel Shawulu further said that the clergymen would organise prayer convocations while in Israel during the pilgrimage for the peace and unity of the state in particular and the entire nation in general.
According to him, “this is the first of its kind in the state, and we would conduct it in such a way that it will become a sustainable activity in the future”.
Daniel Shawulu, who was represented by the Director, Administration and Human Resources of the Board, Mr Nathaniel Mua’azu, commended the state government for sponsoring and supporting Christian clergymen on prayer mission for the country to Israel.

He stressed that all the Pastors sponsored from the state have all the qualities, integrity, credibility and they are leaders of the Christian family.
The Executive Secretary, also explained that the Board has introduced e- medical services for the Board, adding that it will organise a medical training and conduct examinations for interested Doctors and Nurses that are interested.
He added, “Those will be the personnel that is to take care the of pilgrims during the general pilgrimage in the Holy Land. Equal opportunities will be given to those that applied and want to participate in the medical activities of the pilgrims”.
Daniel Shawulu, however, called on the clergymen to conduct themselves well while in the holy land and pray fervently for the peace and unity of the state and the entire country.
