Jesuloba Esther, a fashion enthusiast, is a name that’s quickly rising to prominence in the world of fashion and styles. As the creative mind behind DEYDA’S Apparel, Esther is making waves with her unique blend of African heritage and modern design.
Her journey into fashion began back in 2009, right after she finished secondary school when she discovered her passion for clothing and design. “Fashion has always been a way for me to express my love for African culture,” she shares.
Esther’s formal training started at a fashion school, and she further honed her skills in Fine Art and Graphics Design at Yaba College of Technology. During her time as a student, she gained hands-on experience through the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) at Creative Options Fashion School, where she fully immersed herself in the world of fashion.
Her dedication didn’t stop there. While serving her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Taraba, Esther took it upon herself to train fellow corps members for free, sharing her knowledge and passion for styling and design. After gaining invaluable experience with Aimas Lifestyle, a well-known fashion and styling brand, she took a bold step forward. In March 2015, she officially launched DEYDA’S Apparel, registering it with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Since then, her brand has grown steadily, attracting clients from all corners of the globe.
At the recent Fashions Finest Africa Epic Show 2024, Esther unveiled her latest collection, “TIWA LADE,” which captivated the audience with its Afro-centric flair. “TIWA LADE,” meaning “ours is the crown” in Yoruba, is a powerful tribute to the pride and strength of women. The collection brilliantly fuses traditional African prints, colors, motifs, and fabrics with modern aesthetics, creating a vibrant celebration of African heritage. One standout piece, “Adunni,” features 100 zippers artfully arranged to form a stunning fringe effect, showcasing Jesuloba’s innovative approach and exceptional craftsmanship.
“Through DEYDA’S Apparel, I aim to honor African culture and empower women,” Esther explains. Her designs go beyond fashion; they are artistic expressions that celebrate the richness of African heritage and the resilience of women everywhere.
It’s clear that Esther is not stopping any time soon. She will be creating not just beautiful clothes but also crafting a legacy in the fashion world. With each new collection, she brings the vibrancy of African culture to the global stage, making a lasting impact on the world of fashion.
