We cannot bury our heads in the sand and pretend as if everything is right. Everything is not right and we are faced with not just with very negative situation and circumstances but also negative people. Even though we are hemmed in but the key is to have a right perspective in it all.
“Even the most positive people experience negativity from time to time — it’s part of what makes us human. In very small doses, negativity can actually be pretty helpful, since it’s our mind’s method of keeping us safe by highlighting the bad in things. In larger doses however, it can dramatically limit our potential and hold us back from living life to the full. Relationships, careers, personal growth and long-term fulfilment can all be hampered. What’s more, research has shown that negativity can also pave the way for more stress and more illness than our more positive peers.” Bev James
We need to understand that we cannot operate at our optimum if we are in a state of negativity. Negativity will always make us to end in deficit and if our lives will count we must rise about this. We must be proactive about dealing with and avoiding negativity.
“Negativity sucks away energy. If part of the negativity stems from your attitude or perspective, commit yourself at the beginning of each day and each activity to find something positive in yourself and in others around you. If the people around you are negative and you can’t change that, either remove yourself from the situation or view it simply as one obstacle you face in pursuing your own potential. Stay focused on your own goals and make the best of the situation.” Terry Orlick
One thing, which is very common, which we must be wary of, is complaining. When we unduly focus on the negative around us we can easily become hopeless and unconsciously become helpless. We must not accept what is wrong but our attitude must be right else we incapacitate and disable ourselves.
“To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge. When you complain, you make yourself into a victim. When you speak out, you are in your power. So change the situation by taking action or by speaking out if necessary or possible; leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness.” Eckhart Tolle
If we will live our dreams and make our lives to count we must reduce the inflow of negativity into our lives. We must be dispassionate about issues and never take other peoples negativity personal else we imbibe and operate in their negativity at our own peril.
We must spend more time with and around positive people than negative people. Negativity is contagious hence we need to be careful and discerning.
