The anniversary service with the theme: And behold, I am come quickly and my reward is with me to give to everyman according to his work shall be, drew faithful from other CAC districts and other churches from far and near.
Though the programme was scheduled for 10.00 am, the church auditorium was full to capacity by 9.30 am with resplendently dressed worshippers, who exuded great joy and enthusiasm.
Speaking on the occasion, the anniversary chairman, Joseph Eniola, expressed his delight for being part of the celebration and offered praises to God for witnessing another anniversary which he described as spiritually refreshing and fulfilling
He congratulated the coordinators for their efforts and dedication which culminated in the success of the anniversary for the past 23 years.
He also advised the children to always give part of their time to God and be faithful in all their doings.
The sermon, which was delivered by a teenager, Abifarin Yanmife, was centered around the theme of the anniversary.
Eniola called on the faithful to be fervent in their prayers, just as he of the Almighty and enjoined those who have left the faith to repent and seek the kingdom of God because the end-time was here.
He emphasised that the most important achievement in life wasto accept Jesus Christ as one’s Lord and Saviour.
Speaking with the Sunday Tribune, the coordinator of the children church, Pastor Samuel Ogungbemi, who was elated, said the church believed in training the child because it was worthwhile to invest in them since they ware the future of the nation.
“The church expects parents to allow their children to come for the various trainings organised for the children. We expect parents to cooperate with the Sunday school teachers by providing materials like the Holy Bible and the hymn book.
“The Lord has indeed helped the children church these past 23 years and we have produced leaders for the church choir and Sunday school including Sunday school teachers We are very grateful to our father in heaven.”
Highlights of the anniversary were praise and worship, catechism, recitation of memory verses, news casting, and rendition of church anthem.
There were also presentation of gifts to the children, who excelled during the quiz competition to mark the anniversary and others who contributed to the success of the anniversary. The reacents included: Engineer Olajide Solomon, Mrs Cecilia Oluwatoyosi , Princess Dorcas Adeyemi Fajuyigbe and Elder Steven Babajide Iwashokun.
