As results of the presidential and National Assembly elections are trickling in, the result released by the presiding officer of Hassan Manzo polling unit in Herwagana Ward of Gombe metropolis in Gombe State, Ahmed Jamilu Makko, showed that PDP presidential candidate, ATIKU Abubakar polled a total of 80 votes while his rival, President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC polled a total of 457 votes.
Also, the result revealed that Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo won in the polling unit with a total of 325 votes while his main rival of the APC, Saidu Ahmed Alkali of polled a total of 212 amidst jubilation by the crowded APC supporters who sang in jubilation as they escorted the result to the collation centre.
Our Correspondent who monitored the conduct of elections in Gombe observed that the exercise was generally peaceful in most parts of Gombe North Senatorial district as the elections started on time as many voters lined up even before the arrival of the election officials.
As at the time of filing this report, Gombe, the Gombe State capital was generally peaceful and calm as attention was being shifted to the collation centres across the State.
