British High Commission in Nigeria hosts webinar on Youth Climate Action

The British High Commission in Nigeria is hosting a webinar themed “Youth Engagement for Climate Action” as it marks International Youth Day 2020 on Wednesday.

“In the lead-up to COP26 in November 2021, the UK Government recognizes the key role that youth play in tackling climate change and will be working closely with youth, youth-led and youth focused organisations on strengthening the capacity of young Nigerians,” said  Sean Melbourne, the Commission’s Head of Climate Change and Energy for West Africa.

“The objectives of the International Youth Day 2020 webinar are to understand youth challenges, as well as provide a platform to amplify youth voices and the works of grassroots movements that can push for greater commitment to tackle climate change.”
