Bauchi State Government has proposed to spend the sum of over N167b in the 2020 fiscal year.
The Budget proposal was presented to the State House of Assembly on Thursday by the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir saying that the proposed figures were arrived at based on the present economic situation and reality in the country.
The Governor assured that his administration will ensure that every project captured in the 2020 budget was fully executed and put to use by the people of Bauchi.
He added that no room will be left for wastages while every leakage will be blocked to ensure effective utilization of the meagre resources available to the state while internally generated revenue will be boosted to augment what will be accrued from the Federation Allocation and other sources.
While giving the breakdown of the proposed budget, the Governor disclosed that the sum of N94b is allocated to Capital projects while the sum of N72b will be spent on Recurrent Expenditures.

He, therefore, called on the State Assembly to expedite the process of going through the proposals and approved it in good time to enable his administration to hit the ground running in implementation of the budget.
Bala Mohammed also commended the cordial relationship existing between the Legislature and Executive arms in the state in spite of the political party differences saying that it is a thing of emulation by other states in the country.
In his speech, while receiving the proposal from the Governor, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt Honorable Abubakar Y Sulaiman commended the Governor for what the administration has done so far in terms of development.
He then assured that the House will immediately commence deliberations on the appropriation so that it will be passed and approved to enable the Executive start implementation for the good of the people of Bauchi State.
