Twenty-four hours after dissolving the caretaker committees of the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Bauchi State, Governor Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has submitted the names of new caretaker chairmen and their deputies to the State House of Assembly.
During the plenary of the Assembly held on Wednesday, 19th July 2023, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman announced that the Assembly had received a message from Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad requesting the screening and confirmation of nominees for the appointment as chairmen and deputies of the 20 Local Government Areas’ caretaker committees.
Presenting the Governor’s message to the House, Majority Leader Hon. Saleh Hodi Disina listed the nominees as follows:
Alkaleri LGA: Chairman – Comr. Bala Ibrahim, Deputy – Ibrahim Yaro Kargo Bauchi LGA: Chairman – Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko, Deputy – Bala Musa Mato Bogoro LGA: Chairman – Marcus Bitrus Lusa, Deputy – Timothy Andrew Boi Dambam LGA: Chairman – Muhammad Ahmad Dambam, Deputy – Usama Dagauda Darazo LGA: Chairman – Sama’ila Ya’u Sade, Deputy – Tasallah Kawu Labaran
Additionally, the nominees for the remaining LGAs are as follows:
Dass LGA: Chairman – Muhammad Jibo, Deputy – Lawal Bala Wandi Gamawa LGA: Chairman – Nasiru A. Bakura, Deputy – Salisu Alhaji Dahiru Ganjuwa LGA: Chairman – Abdullahi Idris Miya, Deputy – Ibrahim Shehu Baba Giade LGA: Chairman – Usman Muhammad Saleh Randy, Deputy – Bahijja Babaji Itas/Gadau LGA: Chairman – Yakubu Saidu Shatiman Gadau, Deputy – Sabiu Abubakar
Jamaare LGA: Chairman – Mohammad Inuwa Moisha, Deputy – Saleh Muhammad Sabon Kafi Katagum LGA: Chairman – Musa Azare, Deputy – Abdulhamid Datti Kirfi LGA: Chairman – Hon. Shira LGA: Chairman – Babangida Isa Abdullahi, Deputy – Adamu Usman Tafawa Balewa LGA: Chairman – Samaila Wakili Lere, Deputy – Dan’asabe Bununu Toro LGA: Chairman – Danlami Garba Abubakar, Deputy – Auwal Abba Warji LGA: Chairman – Muhammad Shuaibu Baima, Deputy – Jamila Aliyu Adamu Zaki LGA: Chairman – Adamu Yakubu Sakwa, Deputy – Mamuda Aminu
Hon. Ibrahim Tanko Burra, representing Burra Constituency, suggested that the screening of the nominees should commence on Thursday. Hon. Habibu Umar, representing Kirfi Constituency, seconded the motion and further suggested that since there is screening of deputy chairmen, the screening should be completed within two days.
The motion was adopted, and it was resolved to commence the screening of the nominees on Thursday, 20th July 2023.
