IN its determined efforts to provide health care support to the not too wealthy people, the Bauchi State Government is collaborating with the Presidential Committee on the North East to provide free health care services outreach to the people of the state.
The service which commenced Monday will run for five days at the Bayara General hospital for the Southern part of the state which is made up of seven local governments.
Hundreds of people have so far visited the hospital to have themselves checked up in all areas of general medical problems.
The Coordinator of the programme, Dr Chris Chukwuyere said that people could come and have themselves check irrespective of their ailments.
He stated that so far the medical team is receiving great cooperation from the people and other personnel on the ground pointing out that this has made their work more easier.

Dr Chris also commended the Bauchi State Government for supporting the medical outreach as well as the moral, logistics and facility support given to the medical team.
Treatment and drugs are being given free of charge while the same programme will also take place in the Central and Northern zones of the state.
A beneficiary of the program Audu Hassan who said that he came all the way from Dass declared, “I think the government needs to be commended and encouraged for the programme. This has really taken over the burden of payment from us considering the economic situation of the country “.
