A socio-political organisation with concern for the nation’s development and growth, the Ilobu Asake Development Union, FCT chapter has described the recent deployment of Army personnel to various departments by the Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Taoreed Lagbaja, as a welcome development.
A statement jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the union, Gafar Kolawole Arogundade and Waheed Odebunmi, respectively, said that the redeployment was timely for the security challenges confronting the nation.
The union said that it saw the redeployment as part of renewed efforts to reposition the Nigerian Army for operational efficiency and functional administration.
The statement tasked the senior officers to redouble their effort to duty to curb terrorism, insurgency and other threats to national security.
The Ilobu Asake Development Union, FCT chapter then appealed to the present administration under President Bola Tinubu to provide logistics to security agencies to ensure effective discharge of their constitutional mandate of protecting the nation’s territorial integrity.
