The brains behind the Arise Women Foundation, Dr. Siju Iluyomade, has reaffirmed her commitment to continue illuminating the Nigerian landscape, especially women and the underprivileged, through her life-impacting initiative.
Dr. Iluyomade made this known to newsmen at the press conference held in Lagos, unveiling the activity lineup for the celebration of the 15th anniversary of Arise Women, set to commence this weekend and make it a memorable one.
According to her, this year’s event, themed “StepUp,” will be a milestone event that stands as a testament to the foundation’s unwavering commitment to uplifting women and the vulnerable. Notably, over 5,000 underprivileged participants will receive the Arise Food Basket (Pink Buckets), and farmers will be empowered with fertilizer seedlings.
“The celebration will kick off with the Arise Walk for Life on October 14, transcending global boundaries. It’s a rallying call for people of all ages. This free event promotes physical and mental well-being and will raise awareness of the importance of regular physical exercise and proper health checks,” she added.
Following the Arise Walk, she noted that the esteemed Arise Golf Tournament will be hosted at Ikoyi Club on October 20, offering not just sporting prowess but a unique networking opportunity with business leaders and philanthropists.
According to Dr. Iluyomade, the third event will feature the Arise Football Novelty Match at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos Island, on October 21. She added, “It’s a thrilling clash that unites Arise Women supporters against a team of celebrities and business leaders, showcasing the power of unity through sportsmanship. Young female football enthusiasts are also encouraged to attend and participate.”
“The pinnacle of the celebration is the Arise Women Conference at Trinity Towers and simultaneous event centres along COD Road, Dideolu Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event will be graced by dignitaries from all walks of life, standing as a testament to the foundation’s commitment to fostering inspiration and hope.
“We are excited to celebrate our 15th anniversary with these events. Arise Women has been committed to empowering women and young girls for the past 15 years, and we are grateful for the support of our partners and donors who have helped us make a difference in the lives of so many,” she added.
