Following the robbery incident which occurred in Anyigba on Thursday, the Kogi State Police Command have deployed Tactical Teams comprising PMF Personnel, Counter Terrorism, Quick Response and Intelligence Units in synergy with other Security Agencies to restore normalcy in the area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya in a press statement issued on Saturday said
consequent upon the Ayingba Banks robbery as well as the attacks on Police Stations on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand Onuoha, visited the scenes for on-the-spot assessment, vows that the hoodlums will be apprehended.
He mentioned that one Police Constable paid the supreme price during the exchange of fire with the hoodlums, before the arrival of the reinforced Team to the scenes and the attackers fled.
He said the Commissioner of Police assures of the Command’s unwavering commitment to working in synergy with other Security Agencies as well as patriotic Stakeholders in ensuring that Kogi State is safe and secure for all and sundry.
He further tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department to commence investigation into the incident with a view to bringing the perpetrators to deserved justice.
The CP further urged the good people of Kogi State to continue to collaborate with the Security Agencies with credible information on the activities of anyone they reasonably suspect within their neighbourhood.
