The Governor who stated this in a press statement signed by his Senior special assistant on Public Affairs and Media, Yakubu Lamai made available to TribuneOnline Wednesday 27th.
According to the statement, Nasarawa State is deeply saddened by this sudden loss of lives and wanton destruction of property in Plateau State, therefore stands with them in same thoughts, praying for quick recovery and to put an end to the dark moment.
“Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura condoles and sympathizes with victims of families and the entire citizens of Plateau State at the sporadic, unwarranted and suspicious escalation of violence.
“We use this medium to encourage His Excellency Governor Simon Lalong and his Cabinet to remain steadfast in stemming the tide of violence, and we pray that God Almighty gives to Plateau State the peace that you seek and bring comfort to ease the pain of your loss.
“Given the commendable efforts of His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State who has been rigorous in putting in place mechanisms for sustained conflict prevention on the Plateau.
He added that the people of Nasarawa State are deeply entwined with Plateau State not only because of our close borders but also because of their common origin, shared interests and brotherly kinship.
