GOVERNOR Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has assured of the completion of recently awarded road dualisation, reconstruction and expansion projects in the next 18 months.
Ajimobi gave this assurance on Monday during an inspection of the project sites in Ibadan, where demolition was ongoing to pave way for the expansion cum reconstruction.
Addressing residents, traders and owners of structures on the Oke Adu, Agodi Gate-Idi Ape-Iwo Road Interchange, billed for expansion, Ajimobi sought their maximum cooperation with thecontractors for the successful completion of the project.
“We owe Oyo State modernisation. We owe Oyo State sustainable growth and development. In order to do that, infrastructure must be modernised and good road network is a platform for development. This is about value addition and service delivery. Anything we are doing is for 18 months and I assure that this project will be completed in 18 months.”
He further examined the Idi Ape- Basorun –Akobo-Odogbo Barracks Junction set to be dualised, as well as Ologuneru area, on the Ibadan-Eleyele-Eruwa road that is to be reconstructed, expressing optimism that the contractors would deliver a high quality job.
The list of projects recently awarded also includes the dualisation of Saki Township Road from Oke-Ogun Poly to Ilesa Baruba Road.
