Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has urged the people of Gboko to remain calm and carry on with their normal businesses.
Ortom in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase said that the governor frowned at the crisis in the town, in which youths carried out protest.
He said, “the youths apparently sponsored by aggrieved politicians blocked some streets, burning tyres.”
The Governor said that the situation has been brought under control.
He charged security operatives to apprehend those responsible for the violence to serve as a deterrent to others.

Governor Ortom stressed that the State Government would not tolerate thuggery of any kind.
He advised youths to avoid being used by politicians who have run out of favour with the people and now want to cause a political crisis in the state.
