SENIOR Superior Elijah Adefioye Abiye Adelewokan, popularly referred to as Baba Adura was the Minister-to-Charge (MIC)/ Chairman of Ijesa DCC of Cherubim and Seraphim Church based at Beulah Okeiro Parish headquarters Ilesa, Osun State during his lifetime. Before his transition at the age of 87, Baba Adelowokan was a rallying point and the beacon for the Cherubim and Seraphim in Ijesaland of Osun State.
The fact that S.S. Apostle Adefioye Abiye Adelowokan was obviously highly religious and had devoted all his life to the service of God and humanity endeared him to many people, even beyond the church he shepherded till his death. In fact, it is commonly agreed among the generality of the church members that the vacuum created by his demise would be very difficult to fill.
Baba Adelowokan was born into the Adelowokan family in Ilesa, Osun State in 1933. His modest educational attainment at his childhood and youthful stages of life were enough to give him the opportunity to rise to the highest position of the number one citizen in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in all the six local government areas that constitute Ijesland of Osun State.
Adelowokan could be described as a disciplinarian to the core. He was very hard-working and was a man of proven integrity and of unquentionable character. He was highly dedicated to the service of God and humanity, a respecter of human dignity, very bold and courageous in the spreading of the gospel of God to the populace. The leader was very transparent in all the duties he carried out and always carried his followers along in all his activities. He was highly intelligent just as he was blessed with all the good qualities of a leader: Humanity, lover of peace and dignified. The entire Ijesland, Osun State and Nigeria as a whole will miss him.
Baba Elijah Adelowokan was very generous and it was this generousity lifestyle that his children and the entire Ijesa Cherubim and Seraphim members are demonstrating. Baba Elijah Adelowokan believed in putting laughter on people’s faces. Nobody cried into his house without coming out jumping up in joy. And this attribute was his bully pulpit as he preached generosity and the need to cultivate the habit of making othe rpeople happy throughout his lifetime. He was a known prayer warrior who always tabled whatever difficulties he had before the Lord.
In his lifetime, he travelled far and wide across the length and breadth of the globe to preach the word of God. He was easily regarded in the church as the father of all because he didn’t discriminate between his biological children and others that are not his children. He was a giver per excellence who could use his last kobo to solve the financial problem of others.
Apostle Elijah Adefioye Adelowokan started his early Christian life in Ilesa, Osun State till his death and he has been able to win many souls for Christ. God used him to liberate many that were being tormented by evil spirits through several miracles, signs and wonders that God wrought through him. Senior Apostle Elijah Adefioye Adelowokan also used his exemplary good behaviour and lfestyle to serve as a shining example to win many souls for Christ. He was a demonstrator of Christ like lifestyle throughout his sojourn on earth. He will be missed by all the entire members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church worldwide.
From his death on January 30th, 2021 to his burial on February 13, 2021, the tributes and outpouring of positive emotions from all and sundry in and outside of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, have given all of us his biological and spiritual children the hope that Senior Apostle Elijah Adefioye Adelowokan is resting with his maker, whom he served so diligiently while here on earth. May he rest in the bosom of the Almighty God till we meet to part no more.
