THE Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called for prayers to succeed in the task of building the state of his dream.
This request was made during the visit of the Crusade Team of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT) to the Osun State Government House, Osogbo.
Receiving the team, the governor, represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo, said that as a child of destiny and a man of faith, he had succeeded in pulling the state out of the 12 years of darkness.
He asked those present not to relent in their prayers for him, Osun State, and Nigeria.
According to the commissioner, the governor planned to personally welcome the crusade team, but for unscheduled official visits to Lagos and Abuja.
Speaking on the reason for the visit, the Regional Pastor, Pastor Femi Oluwarinu, said the team came to the Government House at the instance of the General Overseer of the church, Pastor (Dr) E. O. Abina, to pray for the governor, his family, cabinet and the people of Osun State.
He explained further that the five-day crusade, a yearly programme organized by the church, is to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the cities in the country.
Extolling the governor, Pastor Oluwarinu said the state had experienced peace since he assumed office because he embraced everybody, irrespective of religious affiliation.
In his remarks, the General Evangelist of GOFAMINT, Evangelist Ezekiel Falade, described the large-heartedness of the governor as an attribute of a good leader.
He said though the church had been praying, the team would pray for the governor, his family, cabinet members, and the state at large as requested by the governor.
The team also met with the deputy governor, Kola Adewusi, who encouraged the church to continue propagating the good news.
Other members of the crusade team during the visit were the Assistant General Evangelist, Mission, Evangelist Z. I. Ilori; Evangelist Sunday Anyebe, Evangelist Moses Akinyetun; wife of Evangelist Falade, Dr (Mrs) Olubunmi Falade; Inspectorate Pastor and District Pastors, Evangelists, among others.
At the crusade held at the Freedom Park later that evening, the governor was represented by the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning.
