The member representing Madagali Constituency in Adamawa House of Assembly, Mr Emmanuel Tsamdu, on Tuesday announced his defection from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).
Tsamdu in a letter read by the Speaker, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa, said the factional crisis in PDP was responsible for his defection.
Tsamdu who cited Section 109 of the constitution to defend his action said that PDP has been “in disarray for the past two years” moving from one crisis to another.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tsamdu’s defection is coming same day with that of Rep. Adamu Kamale representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency whose defection from PDP to APC was also read by Speaker Yakubu Dogara at plenary.
Tsamdu’s defection now brought the number of APC members in Adamawa Assembly to 23 while PDP and Social Democratic Party (SDP) have one member each.
