Written and directed by Frankie Ogar, A Soldier’s Story is an action drama set in two West African countries, Nigeria and a fictional country called the Watz Republic. The story highlights the major socio-economic issues such as insurgency, terrorism, women’s rights, emigration and more that the world is currently tackling, while telling a compelling story of love, hope, and survival in the face of corruption.
The film A Soldier’s Story was shot in Lagos, Nigeria with a total number of direct hire cast and crew members for principal photography of 100 people. This film is poised to earn both at the box office for entertainment and for its quality due to its strategic collaborations. The cast combines heavyweight Hollywood actors, Eric Robert, John Vogel and Berit Glaser; while its Nigerian cast features veterans such as Alex Usifo, Akin Lewis, Segun Arinze with the stellar newer actors, Linda Ejiofor, Somkele Iyamah-Idhalama, Michelle Dede, Daniel K. Daniel, Tope Tedela, Baaj Odeuble, Samabasa Nzeribe and a few surprises like Vimbai Muthinri.

This production aims to make a statement for the Nigerian film industry as a whole and possibly change the narrative for the action genre. The movie stands out because of its complete adherence to international standards for movie production in terms of plot, setting, visual effects, colour correction amidst other post-production procedures.
