A-28-year-old woman, Nifemi Ajayi, was on Monday remanded in Ile-ife correctional centre for biting her neighbour’s scrotum.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, dragged the defendant before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on one count of assault.
The prosecutor told the court: “On Aug 24, 2021, around 8:00 pm at No 21, Oke-Soda, Ile-Ife, Nifemi bit one Olayera Boluwaji on his scrotum and left side stomach, which caused him bodily harm.”
He further charged the court to punish the offender saying, “the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 355 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.”
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the offence as her counsel, Mr Philip Fasanmoye, made an oral bail application for the defendant on the most liberal term.
The presiding magistrate, Olusola Aluko, thereafter ordered that she should be remanded in Ile-Ife Correctional Centre.
She adjourned the case till November, 15 for consideration.
