The collection features her fusion of African print designs with a Western touch. With her years of vast experience in the fashion industry, Sarah Nana has set up her global fashion knowledge to contribute to and give meaning to Africa’s sustainable fashion industry. Her latest collection, the Nkoson collection, displays the use of vibrant colours and patterns to create exuberant, Afrocentric yet sophisticated looks fit for women of different ages, body types, and styles.
The collection includes a dynamic styling combination of corporate clothing and casual wear that can be rocked in the daytime and switched up for a sultry but elegant night look.
The entire NKONSON collection drew more inspiration from the beauty and vibrancy of nature, and that is what Ankara fabric represents. Sarah Nana shows how every piece in the collection holds a unique story, and each design is infused with the spirit of a lush garden in full bloom. The collection was full of vibrant colours and Ankara fabrics with bold prints. Sarah Nana used a variety of Ankara fabrics. The design pieces were both elegant and stylish, true to the brand’s signature.
This NKOSON COLLECTION 2023, like other collections, is highly celebrated for its fusion of traditional African art and contemporary fashion. She merges her passion, especially with her love for Ghana’s cultural heritage, which shows throughout the collection.
In her words, “We design the Ankara textiles first, and then the outfits, but we are always inspired by African stories; we just must keep turning out amazing designs in good and unique quality, and people are always going to go for quality over quantity. She advised aspiring designers to keep going and be consistent, passionate, and original.
The unveiling event was reminiscent of a garden with beautiful flower decorations, and the runway was also decorated with flowers and plants, creating a truly magical atmosphere.
