The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the House of Representatives in Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency and chairman of OTOPE Foundation, Honourable Temitope Oladimeji, has, again, reiterated his rejection of the imposition of any aspirant, saying a primary election, as stipulated in the national timetable of the party for the 2023 general election, must hold next month.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, at the weekend, Oladimeji, who said he had been preparing for the primary election, alleged that some leaders of the party had picked Honourable Busari Olayemi against the decision of other aspirants as agreed in a jointly-signed document at the last stakeholders’ meeting held at A3 Hotel.
According to him, all the aspirants agreed to go for the primary election at the meeting.
“I am well prepared and everything is now set for the party primary election process. I have submitted my forms to the national office of our great party in Abuja.
“I urge all leaders in Egbeda and Ona Ara Local Government Areas to give all aspirants equal rights to participate in the democratic process of choosing an acceptable candidate that can win the general election in 2023,” the statement read.
