18-year-old sentenced to 3months imprisonment for theft of sports council aluminum

MAGISTRATE Ajimati Amole of the Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan on Tuesday, sentenced an 18-year-old man identified as Ridwan Yusuf to three months imprisonment having found him guilty of stealing a piece of aluminium frame belonging to the Oyo State Sports Council.

Yusuf was arraigned before the court on a lone count charge of stealing the aluminium frame valued at N25, 000 on February 6, 2018, in a suit delineated MI/175c/2018.

The prosecutor, Mr.Shalewa Hammed had alleged before the court that Yusuf on January 3, 2018, at about 2:00 am at Adamasingba Shopping Complex, Mokola in Ibadan stole some piece of Aluminum fame valued at N25,000.

Hammed said the offence is contrary to and punishable under section 390(9) of criminal Code Cap 38, Vol.II laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000.

‎The convict had pleaded guilty to the charge and the court had sentenced him to three months imprisonment or N15, 000 option of fine.
