Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, on Monday, said the state police command was still waiting for the former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, to honour the invitation delivered to him on October 20, 2017, which was signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Mr Umege Uzochukwu.
It will be recalled that authorities of Osun State Police Command had invited former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, over alleged assault on late Senator Isiaka Adeleke during the build up to the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2014 ahead the August 9, 2014 governorship election.
Omisore, Adeleke and Senator Olasunkanmi Akinlabi were among the gubernatorial aspirants, struggling for the ticket of the PDP in Osun during the period.
When contacted by the Nigerian Tribune if Omisore had reported at the SCID, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeoye, simply stated, “we are still waiting for him to honour the invitation.”
