Zamfara state government has disclosed that the lingering water supply in Gusau, the state capital and its environs would soon be over, procured stand-by digital generators, and pumping machines for constant water supply in the state.
This was disclosed today by the state Commissioner of Information and Culture, Mannir Haidara while briefing newsmen in Gusau.
Haidara explained that the present administration is committed to addressing long-term water shortages in Gusau and its environs.
“His Excellency after visiting the board immediately awarded a contract for the procurement of water chemicals, 2 stand-by digital power generators and pumping machines for effective service delivery of the board. These indeed facilitate a constant supply of water in Gusau and some communities within the town.
“As part of the state government commitment to addressing water supply shortages across the state, the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal has constituted a special task force committee on water supply in Zamfara with mandates to identify water supply problems in Gusau and other local government areas of the state.
“As am talking to you now, the committee has since submitted its reports and recommendations to His Excellency waiting for government implementation.”
The information commissioner further revealed that within the short span of office, the present administration has demonstrated unwavering dedication in addressing some key issues affecting the state and enacting positive change within its domain.
According to him, Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration has been committed to enhancing access to quality healthcare services.
“In addition to the support the administration always gives to hospitals and health care centres across the state government has also initiated and launched a special modified monthly medical outreach programme with a view to give free medical services to patients with special cases in all the local government areas.”
He maintained that the gesture has led to improvements in healthcare service delivery for the residents in the state.
“Indeed, these first 100 days in office have been a testament to the resilience and dedication of the people of Zamfara state. We’ve made significant strides, but there is much work to be done. Together, we will continue to build a better future for all.”
He added that the present administration remains committed to its vision for a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Zamfara state.
