In line with its vision to share love and give hope to the people, a nongovernmental and not-for-profit organisation, Wonder Women of Hope Foundation (WOWOH), a body born out of charity in 2017, has put smiles on the faces of over 2500 women for the 2024 festive period.
WOWOH foundation this year took another dimension by packaging foodstuff worth N25,000 to over 2,500 individuals across seven cities. The organization travelled round communities in Ilaro, Lagos, Ibadan, Ilesa, Osogbo, Akure, and Ile-Ife for an outreach that ran between Friday, December 13, 2024 in Ilaro and Friday, December 20, 2024 when the grand finale took place in Ile-Ife.
This organization in the space of six years has provided packages of foodstuff to over 10,000 individuals and empowered up to 50 people with different kinds of equipment needed for survival and daily living. Over 20 apprentices with different vocational skills have also benefited from the empowerment where the foundation secured their needed equipment for them.
In ensuring that families, communities, and nations are transformed, WOWOH foundation embraces and supports the widows, aged, less privileged, and the special people struggling through adversity while also inspiring and empowering hundreds of people by providing mental and financial support that will improve their quality of life and facilitate their survival in the community.
During the just concluded WOWOH outreach, over 30 persons were empowered with grinding machines, washing machines, and deep freezers. Cash of #3,000,000 was also given to 15 individuals to boost and support their business where the least person got N100,000. Also, there was free medical outreach where beneficiaries had basic tests like blood sugar, blood pressure, medical consultations, chest X-rays, free drugs and free eyeglasses. At the end, 500 individuals; out of which over 50 of the aged widows of 70 years and above, enjoyed lifetime medical care as part of medical empowerment this year.
Some of the dignitaries that graced this year’s WOWOH outreach include the wife of the Osun State deputy governor, Princess Olusola Adewusi, and the Head of Councillors, Oyo State, Hon. Oladepo Ayodeji in addition to high chiefs in Ile Ife and its environs.
Speaking, the president of the foundation, Mrs. Adenike Olotu, urged everyone who benefited from the 2024 outreach to extend this hand of love to their neighbors by sharing from what they received with people around them and also prayed that by this time next year, they will be the one giving to people. She also appreciated the people that were instrumental to the success of the WOWOH Foundation outreach, especially the donors who gave sacrificially and all volunteers who served tirelessly and selflessly to ensure a seamless outreach.
