Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stated that the opposition will not succeed in challenging President Bola Tinubu through emotion and anger.
He made this assertion while addressing various groups of PDP members from Jigawa who gathered for breakfast with him in his home village of Bamaina, located in the Birninkudu local government area.
Lamido insisted that only the PDP has the capacity and capability to regain power and unseat President Tinubu by reuniting its members and becoming stronger.
Lamido explained that all leaders and chieftains of opposition political parties, other than the PDP, were once members of the PDP and were favoured by the party, having held various positions at all levels before leaving.
The PDP chieftain urged former governors Basiru El-Rufai, Peter Obi, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, and others to return to the PDP and join forces with former presidents and vice presidents to rescue Nigeria and its citizens from the current administration.
According to him “You can succeed in fighting Tinubu by emotion. By anger, trying to revenge is not possible. It is better for all the leaders and chieftains of the other opposition political parties to come back home (PDP) and join the remaining family members to achieve the desire objectives”.
He added “Come back to your home, there is no shame in coming back home, rejoin your initial and trusted family members whom you achieved in providing good governance in the country between 1999 to 2015.
“When a country is going through difficulties and looking for a way forward you don’t miss your vision based on your personal mode, your pain in terms of your own personal mose in terms of what you feel from a government or institutions, so the panic measures would not help us”.
Lamido noted “we need to be more reflective, more sober and more honest to ourselves to look at the country. See what it was before this government came in, are we better up now than under PDP?, the answer is no, we are worse than”.
“So please come back where you were. Removing PDP in Nigerian history from 1999 to date there is no Nigeria. All those who parade around former governors, ministers, and parliamentarians are all creations of PDP, they should came back home. There is no shame in coming back home”.
Lamido praised the party leader, members, and elected legislators for their patriotism and foresight in remaining with the party to improve the social and economic lives of the people, particularly the common man.
