HOW would you describe yourself?
I am a very simple person, a music minister by calling, a prophetess of Itana Ogo Ayeraye Gospel Music Outreach. My youthful years were spent in Lagos, while my music brought me to Ondo State. I don’t like talking much but I can be an extrovert when it comes to preaching.
How long have you been in the ministry?
When I was young, my mum used to tell me I would be a music minister and prophetess. In fact, she called me woli mi (meaning: my prophetess). So, I would say I received the call into the ministry in 2002, during the occasion of one of my birthdays, April 14, although, my mum had received series of prophecies regarding my calling before I was born.
How would you describe your husband?
My husband is Pastor Emmanuel Okedairo; I call him ‘my pastor.’ He is a popular pastor in Lagos, and we just started our church in Akure. I got married to him in 2009.
How do you feel being a pastor’s wife?
I’m so happy being with him because there is peace and tranquillity in my home. He supports my ministry fully and also helps me out at home.
You are a mother, wife, music minister and prophetess. How do you create balance?
I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. I enjoy the support of my husband and that of my band members. With them, and by God’s grace, it has been very easy.
How have you used your ministry to influence people?
I am a motivational speaker. Aside other programmes, I engage in public speaking on social media. I am an advocate of women being supportive of their husbands and ensuring they groom their children well. I also advise women on the need to be submissive to God for His directions.
What are the needed ingredients women need to have good homes?
There is need to have heaven here on earth; a home that is without Christ would be quite difficult to sustain. If your home is in disarray here on earth, you do not have a stake in heaven. If you don’t have God here on earth, it would be quite difficult to have the bliss of marriage. So there is need for women to embrace Christ.
What are the roles of women in nation-building?
Women need to ensure they groom their families well, which would, in turn, translate to the society. However, when it comes to politicking, I do not subscribe to women taking the driver’s seat, as it is a daunting task which would rob them off their time when it comes to keeping their homes.
How many albums do you have to your credit?
To the glory of God, I have three albums to my credit. The first one is Ogo Ikehin, the second is Aanu Ti O Common, while the third is Oba Adanimagbagbe. I also organise concerts and this year’s programme took place last week with the theme, Asoro Se.
Do you support couples having joint accounts?
I don’t see anything wrong with that. It is good for the home, children and for the couple’s future. However, the difficulty comes when one chooses to spend lavishly to the detriment of others in the family.
