We will continue to fight corruption — Lai Mohammed

THE Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday said the government will not be distracted by any form of propaganda on its fight against corruption.

Mohammed who said this while receiving pro-government protesters under the auspices of Joint Action Coalition of Civil Societies in Nigeria at the Presidential Villa gate said the government will do its best to revamp the economy within the shortest possible time.

He said although corrupt Nigerians are behind some of the hate speeches going on in the country, the government will remain focused and determined to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.

Mohammed appreciated the efforts of Nigerians that stood behind the President during the trying moment and he said it will soon be a thing of the past

According to him “Corruption is fighting back in the country, we will not be deterred, we will continue to press on in infighting corruption, insecurity and bring the lost glory of the country

The protesters numbering hundreds told Tribune Online that the reason for the rally was to declare support for the policies of the present administration, especially in the area of fight against corruption.

The convener of the CSOs, Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, while addressing journalists said that they were satisfied with the decisions and policies of President Buhari.

His words: “We are here today to tell Nigerians that we are satisfied with the decisions of President Muhammadu Buhari and his policies so far.

He noted that though there have been hard times in the country which has brought hardship to the populace, but patience is needed to for the government to fix the economy and relieve the citizens of the hardship.

“We know the time is hard but yet, it shall be better, at the darkest of the night comes a day, so we are about to break through, Nigeria shall be great again,” he added.
