The wife of the caretaker chairman of Bogoro LGA of Bauchi State, Mrs Vasti Markus, has donated the sum of N100,000, one carton of Maggi, and 200 measures of ground maize to patients receiving treatment at the orthopaedic clinic in Mball Village.
She made the donations on Saturday when she paid a sympathy visit to the clinic as part of her responsibility as the First Lady of LGA.
While speaking during the donation, Mrs Vasti Markus said that the gesture was to reduce the suffering being experienced by the patients as a result of the high cost of food and other things required for their treatment.
According to HR, “I am here to sympathise with you and to pray for your quick recovery. I want to uplift your spirits even as you continue to take treatment.”
She then wished them well and expressed appreciation to the wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Haj Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, for her strong commitment towards the welfare of children and women in the state.
Vasti Markus said, “I want to use this opportunity to appreciate our mother, the wife of our governor, and her husband for their compassion, love, and support for children and women in the state and LGA.”
“I will not thank her enough for always standing with the vulnerable members of our society. I will also do my best to put hope in the lives of our people. I want you to be steadfast, trusting God for total healing,” she added.
She also stated that her donation may not be enough to take care of all their needs; however, she appealed to other members of the public to come to their aid.
A total of 32 people who are victims of various accidents are to benefit from the gesture.
