The Ibadan Foundation has advised Indigenes on what to do as indigenes of Ibadan, in a bid to facilitate more development into the town.
The indigenes were advised on the procedures to achieve what it described as golden goals in to the ancient city.
This was stated during the 2024 annual lecture organised by the Ibadan Foundation and held at the Ibadan Civics Center, Ibadan the Oyo state capital on Thursday.
Speaking on the theme “Ibadan: A Time to Score Golden Goals; Visioning for the fatherland“, the guest lecturer at the event and Ibadan Chief, Mayegun of Ibadan land, Chief Adebayo Oyero explained that some necessary steps must be taken to achieve more developments in Ibadan.
Oyero who is also a past president of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII noted that the event is a call for indigenes of Ibadan on activities to engage themselves in a bid to make their names unforgettable in the history of Ibadan.
He charged the indigenes of Ibadan land on the need to engage themselves in the socio-economic development of the town.

While the Ibadan chief advised that to bring more development in Ibadan, the government must stop interfering in the chieftaincy systems of Ibadan land.
According to him the interference of government in the Chieftancy system is not productive for the system.
Adding that the process of installing chieftaincy titles including, Mogajis should be streamlined.
While he also frowned at the appointment of non-Ibadan indigenes for chieftaincy title such as Iyalodestool.
In his remarks, the president, Ibadan Foundation, Tunji Afunlehin explained that the event is Organised to give the in-depth ideas, aspirations and commitment of the founding fathers in the patriotic struggle to raise Ibadan land.
He added that group is a meeting point of sons and daughters of Ibadan United by the common zeal to uplift the less-privileged segment of the populace.
