The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, has urged those campaigning for the re-election of Governor Ahmed Ododo to “off the mic,” emphasizing that the Governor remains committed and focused on the state’s development. He stated that it is too early to become “engrossed in 2027 politics.”
Addressing newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday, the Commissioner for Information stressed that the priority for everyone should be advancing Kogi State, as the Chief Servant is working tirelessly to make it great.
“We recently celebrated the administration’s first anniversary by inviting Kogites to come together and discuss the state’s future. It was a gathering of truth and a clear indication of Kogi’s rebirth.
“The administration is actively working to position the state as a preferred destination for global investors by ensuring adequate security, excellent infrastructure, innovative and business-friendly land and tax administration, and an improved business environment.
“As part of this ambitious drive, the Ododo administration is committed to establishing an airport and a free trade zone in Kogi. We are also focused on enhancing standards in the hospitality industry and tailoring our education system to produce high-quality human resources for the ongoing industrial revolution in the state.
“We appreciate the Federal Government for its unwavering support in transforming Kogi’s mineral wealth into economic prosperity. We also thank investors for their continued confidence in our policies and business environment. Governor Ododo is on a mission to make Kogi State economically viable while empowering its people through shared prosperity,” he said.

Fanwo urged political campaigners to redirect their efforts toward supporting the Governor in fulfilling his campaign promises and achieving the administration’s already emerging goals. He insisted that the Governor is fully dedicated to making Kogi a great state.
“For the Chief Servant, this is a time for work, not politics. He will not compromise the state’s development for political gains. He has earned the trust of the Kogi people, and to maintain that trust, he will continue working diligently to secure, empower, and create opportunities for them,” he said.
He further stated that the Chief Servant expects government officials to focus on serving the people rather than “burdening them with political rhetoric” after just a little over a year in office.
“Governor Ododo’s achievements are evident across all sectors, and the people are highly impressed. He will continue working for them—that is his focus,” he concluded.
