The Association of Veterinary Medical Students (AVMS), University of Ibadan, is set to stage this year’s ‘Dog Show’ at the varsity campus.
Mr. Harmony Olaoluwa, the chairman of this year’s edition of the ‘Dog Show’ made this known in a press statement detailing the association’s programme for the annual event.
The association stated in the release that “the general public is invited to its annual ‘Dog Show’ slated for November 30, 2019, at the University of Ibadan Cricket Pavillon.

It further said the annual ‘Dog Show’ which is free for the public to attend has been holding for more than a decade.
The chairman while inviting the general public stated that the ‘Dog Show’ has been coined to educate people on what Veterinary Medicine means and also to increase the interest amongst the Nigerian populace in keeping their dogs.
He further stated that the Show would help to showcase various breeds of dogs to the public, adding that the public would have a better understanding of what the dogs are capable of doing in the environment.
While stating the benefits of the Dog Show to dog owners, Mr. Olaoluwa stated that dog owners would be educated on ways to care of their dogs, as the program sponsors would be available to educate and enlighten dog owners.
He added that each dog owner would get a souvenir as dogs that emerge victorious in their various categories would go home with branded gifts and medals.
He further advised the general public to be careful of the meat they buy and eat, stating that diseases can be contracted from unhygienic meat.
